Trust in Advertising – FanFic Thursday urr… Friday

Sorry I screwed this up guys. For some reason I got my days out of whack and thought today was Thursday. This first week back to work is messing with me. So without further wait here’s your fan-fic rec for the week.

Trust in Advertising by vjgm

This is another All Human, out of canon story. Bella has just moved to San Fransisco after caring for Charlie of 8 years. Her dream is to get a foot hold in the advertising business. What happens when she’s hired by Masen and ends up with her old high school crush as her boss?

The Verdict:

Brilliant. vjgm is one of my favorite authors and has been since the very beginning of my fanfiction days. It all started with Boycotts and Barflies (which is fantastic if you haven’t read it) and now this is every bit as good… if not a little better.

Edward is still hot but now he’s a hard ass who works too much and plays too little and with his harpy super-model girlfriend he’s even worse.

Bella is strong and fiesty. The supporting characters are also quite brilliant. Emmett especially has some fantastically smart one liners.

Definitely worth the read for the well written, meaty story that is two chapters away from being finished and is updated every Friday.

Fan Fiction: Parenting Skills 101

So, like I always say…

The standard disclaimer: If you haven’t read Twilight – WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU??? If you haven’t finished the series then skip this chatter because we might spoil something for you and we definitely don’t want to do that.

This Week’s Story:

Parenting Skills 101 by vjgm

The Premise:

Forks High is making the junior and senior classes pair up and be ‘parents’ and take care of a baby doll. All the Cullens are in high school still and are required to take the class. How will Charlie react when Bella and Edward announce they’re pregnant? How will Carlisle and Esme take the big news? ~vjgm

The Verdict:

One word. HILARIOUS. Vjgm has a fantastic sense of humor. I’ve read a few of her stories and even the serious ones always have a bit of a sense of humor.

Now I do have to say I’m honestly a little jealous… fake baby or not, who wouldn’t want a bunch a vampires who don’t sleep around when you have a baby that’s up half the night… how much easier would the first year be then??

And can you even imagine how nuts Alice went with the shopping… oh my.

So the verdict… it’s a super fun must read. It will make you chuckle and it even made me cry at one point. After all the heavy and shmexy stuff that’s been rec’ed lately this is just plain old fun.
