Spoiler Warning: This book club discussion question reveals important details about New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. Finish the book before reading on.
This week I thought we could delve into the psyche of Jacob. I personally love this character. He’s very complex. I know he doesn’t garner a lot of love from some people but I have to say I wouldn’t mind having him for a best friend.
So here is this weeks question:
Do you think Jacob’s hatred of Edward and the Cullens as vampires is justified, considering they don’t hunt or hurt people?
There is so much Twilight excitement this month that we can’t contain ourselves! New Moon starts filming on Monday, according to Jackson Rathbone; Catherine Hardwicke’s book will be released March 17th; and the Twilight DVD releases on the 21st. WOW!! March is one exciting month for Twihards! We want to celebrate. And celebrate BIG!
We will be giving away two super fabulous Twilight must-haves:
This ultra fab Edward Cullen action figure.
 And the Twilight soundtrack CD.
So how do you win one? Easy! Let’s go on a scavenger hunt!!
Find the following items on our design team members’ blogs. The items can be found in the static content, that is, in the banner and sidebars. Once you find the items, send an email to tonya@twilighttuesday.com. Include the item and the blog where you found it. All correct entries will be included in a drawing. The first winner will receive the Edward Cullen figure and the second winner will receive the soundtrack. You must find all the items and your entry must be correct. One entry per person, please. Include your first and last name in your email. Entries are due Monday, March 30, 2009 at midnight. The winners will be announced during our Twilight Tuesday Challenge on March 31st!
This is the second Friday the 13th this year, do any mathematicians know the statistical likeliness that there are two months in a row (February and March) with Friday the 13th in them?Â
The release of the Twilight DVD is JUST ONE WEEK away! Last night on TV I saw an ad for Twilight DVD at Walmart! Walmart will have a single disc for $17 or the two disc edition for $23. The release will coincide with the Sping Equinox. Coincidental??? or maybe not!Â
The True Blood DVD First Season box set goes on sale next week Friday. (lots of vampy fun!). And speaking of True Blood – if you haven’t joined us in the forums, we have a whole area in the Book section dedicated to all thing Sookie!Â
Keep your eyes peeled for Twi candy! Necco has made glittery conversation hearts with Twilight themed messages and Twi themed boxes – they’re popping up in stores.  I believe they’ve been spotted at Blockbuster.  I haven’t yet seen any, but I know they’re “out there”!  Let me know where you are finding them (name of the store!) if you’ve seen them.Â
The Admin Team (Tonya, Jen, Julie, and Beth) have been hard at work! In addition to re-organizing the forums, designing new blog banners and forum banners,  there are several great things in store scheduled in the weeks ahead! Please give them all a round of applause for the work they do!
We were pulling up to the house now. Bright light shined from every window on the first two floors. A long line of glowing Japanese lanterns hung from the porch eaves, reflecting a soft radiance on the huge cedars that surrounded the house. Big bowls of flowers – pink roses – lined the wide stairs up to the front doors.
They were all waiting in the huge white living room; when I walked through the door, they greeted me with a loud chorus of “Happy Birthday, Bella!” while I blushed and looked down. Alice, I assumed, had covered every flat surface with pink candles and dozens of crystal bowls filled with hundreds of roses. There was a table with a white cloth draped over it next to Edward’s grand piano, holding a pink birthday cake, more roses, a stack of glass plates and a small pile of silver-wrapped presents.
It was a hundred times worse than I’d imagined.
New Moon opens with Bella’s 18th birthday and Alice in full party mode. Most people dread turning 30 or 40, but Bella dreaded turning 18 – mostly since that meant she was “older” than Edward. For the Cullens, they were excited – the last birthday they had ever “celebrated” was Emmett’s many decades earlier.
For the creative challenge part – create a birthday themed item – you’re welcome to draw inspiration from the party or just go with “birthday”.
For the comment part – tell us if you’ve ever given or been the recipient of a surprise party or let me know if there was a birthday you dreaded. Or simply just let us know what your favorite birthday gift was.
Please leave all comments and links here, and if uploading to SCS – please use keyword TTIC22 (all as one word, no spaces)!
