Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge 47: Mary Alice Brandon: Her History

authorJulie | September 22, 2009

aliceHappy Tuesday, everyone! Today’s Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge is about the character that every Twilighter seems to love — Alice!

Our theme is specifically about Alice’s past, before she met the Cullen family and was known as Mary Alice Brandon. We don’t know too many details about Alice’s life before the events of the Twilight saga occur, but if you would like a refresher on her past, visit the Twilight Saga Wiki here and read!

The craft portion is to depict an aspect of Alice’s history. You can take your inspiration from what we know from the actual Stephenie Meyer text, or you can use your imagination to depict something that could have happened in Alice’s past.

The comment portion – talk a bit about Alice’s gift. Would you like to possess her ability to see the future? Do you think that that would be a blessing or a curse?

Please join in and play along with us! If you do, here are a few guidelines to follow:

For posting to a blog: Please indicate that you are playing along with the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge on Twilighttuesday.com and please provide a link back to our site.

For posting on another gallery, such as Splitcoast Stampers or Flickr: Please indicate that you are playing along with the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge on Twilighttuesday.com and please provide a link back to our site. Please use the appropriate keywords for our challenges; an example is TTIC47 for challenge 47. No number signs (#) or spaces are needed in the keyword. You can also add in more general keywords for Splitcoast/Flickr (such as Twilight, Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge, etc.). Thank you for your help with this!

Comments/Posting your link: Please leave a commentwith the link to your challenge piece to tell us that you played along with us! Then we can all visit you and leave lovely comments for you. (We are no longer using Mr. Linky as we were having quite a few spam issues and downtime.) We are big fans of comments around here!  And don’t forget — leaving a comment on this post will get you entered into this month’s blog candy giveaway!

And as always, our Design Team has fantastic projects to display for this week’s challenge – please go and check them out!

Friday Fragments

authorJulie | August 21, 2009

Hey lovely Twilighters!

It’s been a pretty quiet week in the Twilight world.  The cast and crew are all up in Vancouver and Eclipse has started filming.  And that’s about all the news on that. It’s so quiet now, waiting for the New Moon promotional craze to begin.

So while we wait for that, check out this beautiful shot of Alice from New Moon.  Doesn’t she look great?

alice

We’re not quiet here, though!  Twilight Tuesday has been busy as usual — just this week, we had a new sketch challenge, a Twilight Tuesday challenge, and a Sookie challenge. Fun times! Play along with us, have a ton of fun, and be sure to leave a comment to let us know where we can see your project!

Have a good weekend!

It’s Bella’s Birthday – TTIC #22

authorRebecca | March 10, 2009

We were pulling up to the house now. Bright light shined from every window on the first two floors. A long line of glowing Japanese lanterns hung from the porch eaves, reflecting a soft radiance on the huge cedars that surrounded the house. Big bowls of flowers – pink roses – lined the wide stairs up to the front doors.

They were all waiting in the huge white living room; when I walked through the door, they greeted me with a loud chorus of “Happy Birthday, Bella!” while I blushed and looked down. Alice, I assumed, had covered every flat surface with pink candles and dozens of crystal bowls filled with hundreds of roses. There was a table with a white cloth draped over it next to Edward’s grand piano, holding a pink birthday cake, more roses, a stack of glass plates and a small pile of silver-wrapped presents.

It was a hundred times worse than I’d imagined.

New Moon opens with Bella’s 18th birthday and Alice in full party mode. Most people dread turning 30 or 40, but Bella dreaded turning 18 – mostly since that meant she was “older” than Edward. For the Cullens, they were excited – the last birthday they had ever “celebrated” was Emmett’s many decades earlier.

For the creative challenge part – create a birthday themed item – you’re welcome to draw inspiration from the party or just go with “birthday”.

For the comment part – tell us if you’ve ever given or been the recipient of a surprise party or let me know if there was a birthday you dreaded. Or simply just let us know what your favorite birthday gift was.

Please leave all comments and links here, and if uploading to SCS – please use keyword TTIC22 (all as one word, no spaces)!

Now, go check out the res of the DT’s creations:

book talk: the cullens

authorJen | March 5, 2009

Oops, I forgot about this today. But I’m back and ready to go.

So here is my question. Do you think the Cullen’s really blend in at high-school? I know for the books sake they do just enough to attend school but do you think that’s plausible? If you think it’s not what would you change about the books to make it more plausible?

Its Friday and I’m feeling fragmented!

authorRebecca | February 13, 2009

Wow! Who can believe that we’ve completed nearly twenty weeks of Twilight based challenges!  {And we’ve got some great stuff coming up!}  I wanted to hear back from you.

Which challenge has been your favorite?   The challenges are:

TTIC #18 – Twilight Valentine’s
TTIC #17 – Jacob
TTIC #16 – Twilight Music
TTIC #15 – Twilight Cars
TTIC #14 – Baseball
TTIC #13 – Supporting Characters
TTIC #12 – Be inspired by your favorite Twilight Quote
TTIC # 11- A Very Cullen Christmas
TTIC #10 – Which Twilight Heroine are you?
TTIC #9 – Twilight the Movie
TTIC #8 – Bella Swan
TTIC #7 – Emmett Cullen
TTIC #6 – Rain
TTIC #5 – Which team are you on? Team Edward? Team Jacob? Team Switzerland?
TTIC #4 – Alice Cullen
TTIC #3 – Edward’s Meadow
TTIC #2 – Forks High School
TTIC #1 – Rosalie Hale

Which Twi project from one of the design team members (Beth, Dani, Eve, Jen, Julie, Margie, Tonya,  Rebecca) really “spoke” to you???

My response:

I think my FAV Twi challenges have been #10 (Twi Heroines) and #12 (Twi quotes).    I loved seeing all the Twi Heroine projects, but even more – I really liked seeing which Twi Heroine they are most like.  That’s a fun little quiz!  I am surprised at how many were Esme’s – and that leads into the whole discussion on how maternal Esme is, despite being a blood thirsty undead individual (and I mean that lovingly!).

My favorite projects?

I think my most fav project was Julie’s BASEBALL scouting card (challenge # 14.  I’m soooo not a baseball fan and Julie was outstanding with her “out of the box” challenge project.

Since I can’t pick just one….. here are the other fav projects:

Tonya’s:  Meadow project for TTIC #12 (Twi Quotes)

Eve’s Emmett challenge (TTIC #7)

Dani’s TTIC #15 challenge (Twi cars)

Beth’s Basebeall challenge (TTIC #14)

Margie’s Guide to Twilight Cars (with a space reserved for Esme!) TTIC #15

Jen’s bracelet for a Very Cullen Christmas (TTIC #11)

Life is better when it sparkles, isn’t it?  Don’t forget to let us know which was your favorite challenge and/or project!
