Fan Fiction – Edward Cullen, Dick for Hire by flplmtree95
I am so excited to tell you about the story we are reviewing today. It has officially made my top 3 and I think it’s definitely in Donna’s top 5!!! So here she is:

This is story I just stumbled upon one night when I was looking for something new to read and since I devour about 3 fan fics a week you can imagine that sometimes my digging turns up some rotten tomatoes and sometimes I find some gems. Well this one is definitely a GEM!!
Donna’s thoughts are up first:
Crime scene to visit. Murder to solve. Helllooooo……
First thing I want to say about Edward Cullen, Dick for Hire by flplmtree is that it is ridiculously well written, funny, fantastic and one of the BEST FF that I have read in a long time. I think I can even safely say that it is high up on my favourites list with Clipped Wings and Wide Awake (the chapters before the ‘goddess’ took her break, not after). I can even confess that I actually stayed up well into the wee hours of the morning just because I couldn’t stop reading it!!
Imagine this… Edward Cullen is a sarcastic, quick witted; smart mouthed, and cop loathing, total badass, sometimes hero, Private Investigator. We start off the story with Edward trying to out smart the new competition that has just arrived in town, which just happens to be Bella Swan. And in true FF style they are soon thrown together to solve a case for the DC police force. Flplmtree has given us truly brilliant one liners that have you giggling for a full five minutes and has given Edward and Bella the perfect amount of personality that they just bounce off each other flawlessly. Throw in your basic dysfunctional family (on both sides) and someone trying to kill him and OMGoodness… I guarantee you the ride is worth it.
I cannot recommend this FF enough…You NEED to give this one a go. Not only will you find the journey worth it, you will be looking for more stories from flplmtree to read.
Jen’s thoughts…
Donna did a great job filling you in on the plot! I have to say that this definitely one of my top 3 fan fics of all time. Edward is HILLARIOUS in a gruff, sexy, sarcastic way and Bella is just plain awesome. The two have serious chemistry and this story has something not a lot of other stories have… a plot beyond Bella and Edward’s romance! In all honesty Bella and Edward’s romance play second fiddle to the delicious crime drama happening in the foreground.
You MUST read this fan-fic! It’s absolutely amazing!! And as Donna already said you will find yourself searching through flplmtree’s other stories to find more of her excellent writing to read.

hahahha..Ok, I’m going to barely edit the one f-bomb for propriety’s sake but hey…love your enthusiasm!!! I’m totally lol about the whole boss/conspiracy thing. Damn effing right! This story has owned my heart since it’s birth. Jo is an incredible writer who manages to make me laugh/cry/snort simultaneously on a regular basis…and that is not an easy feat.
I’m so glad that you guys recognized her and The Dick…he’s got a special place in my heart and in mah pocket ;o)

Seriously though people…you need to read this story, and let’s please not forget Protected. If you check out Jo’s profile on ff.net you will see the link for it there. Protected was what first got me hooked on Jo’s writing. The biotch knows how to grab you by the proverbial balls. M’kay? Ya feel me? ;o) Good.

I love Dickward so much, it is on my top 3 list of my favs, Jo is an amazing writer and a great friend. I love all her stories Protected is another one of my favs.

This fic is seriously good. It captured me immediately and I am hooked and so very in love with this version of Edward, AKA the lovebal/punchable Dickward.
It is well written, creative and just a total departure from everything else I have read.
Jo has this way of being able to make me feel like I am reading her words, but watching them play in my head as I do, that is totally uncanny.
I just love this story so very much and hope you all will read it and fall just as in love.
She deserves more readers, the story is just amazing.

LOL, you guys are seriously cracking me up. I’m so glad you found us FL95… I LOVE this story and I’m so happy to have been able to review it and hopefully bring you new readers. Well, Dickward owns my heart form the very start…love the Sh*t out of him, and Jo…
The sexual tension, the sheer brilliance of the writing, the consistency of the characters, the hilarious moments that intertwine so seamlessly with the utter seriousness of the ever-twisting and mysterious plot – I love it all. I get so caught up in the chapters that I get a little crazy!
Not only do I love The Dick, but The Swan stole my heart too. I love her attitude, her honesty, her passion, her humor, her toughness, I mean she has a spine, I love a strong Bella, and she is the luckiest B*tch on the planet to be with him! *grumbles*
Definitely one of my favorite FF’s ever, and I read a lot!
So glad that you picked it to review, she and Dickward totally deserve the recognition.

This is definitely one story to read. I’ve loved Jo’s stories from the beginning, but this one is by far the best. To me, it is ranked between Wide Awake and Protected.
She’s a great writer and if you haven’t read her other stories, then I suggest that you do. They are hard not to read.
I practically squeel everytime a new chapter of Dick For Hire comes up…LOL!
I’m really glad to know that her story’s being spread.
