fan fiction: To Love and Protect by Jayeliwood

This week’s fan fic recommendation is a story I’ve read a couple of times now and was actually shocked to see I hadn’t rec’ed before. I’ve been reading Jayeliwood’s stories since I very first found fan-fiction. Her first full length story, Blind, is wonderful and I’d highly recommend it if you haven’t read it. This week Donna and I are going to discuss Jay’s story To Love and Protect.

To Love and Protect by Jayeliwood

Donna’s thoughts:

When Jen first suggested To Love and Project by Jayeliwood I was a bit surprised… I mean this not usually the kind of story I go for….I like substance, depth and meaning in my FF not to mention a bad Inkward or two….Not fluff and stuff that fairy tales are made of …

BUT….After reading the first chapter I found myself clicking the mouse ready to read the next and thinking to myself….This story is really fun and I like it!!!
So, if you want a light, and get lost in a fairytale piece of fiction this one is definitely one to take your mind off your troubles for a couple of hours and just sit back and enjoy!

To Love and Protect is all about romance of the best kind… Isabella is a somewhat spoiled but very kindhearted and loved by all, beautiful princess who needs a bodyguard….And let’s face it…Who better to protect her from all things dangerous than our own very handsome Edward. But things take a turn for the worse for these two young love birds when the king decides to marry Bella off to Prince Jacob and Edward takes matters into his own hands…

I am not saying that this story will rock your world, or shake you to your very core….But it was so much fun and easy to read. Jayeliwood has always given us pretty wonderful fiction to ponder over and this one is really different to what she usually writes… I recommend that on a Sunday afternoon when you want to just chill and relax and not think about too much, read this story…Not only will it give you a Bella and Edward fix….It will make you forget about everything it will bring a smile to your face.

Jen’s Thoughts:

I’d have to say I agree with Donna on this one. I’m not always a huge fan of the fluffier stories, I like something with a bit more tooth to it but this story from Jayeliwood is one of my favorites. It’s a great go to story when you need to escape into a different world and just get absorbed in a story.

With the setting being old world princesses, knights, kings and queens you find yourself wrapped up in two sets of star crossed lovers. When Bella falls for her personal guard will her father, King Charlie, allow her to follow her heart or force her to take matters into her own hands when Prince Jacob is introduced as her betrothed.

A fun, light hearted, sweet read. One you’ll be glad you took the time to delve into.

Be sure to join the discussion over on the forums!
