FANDOM Friday ~ Are You GLEE-ful, too?
Happy Friday, Twilighters! Oh, yes – Thank God! In keeping with the spirit of FANDOM Friday, and sharing other areas of popular culture that we are loving ~ and we are totally digging Glee! Have you seen it? I have to admit – I was not at all excited about this show when I heard the concept and even after the previews, I wasn’t thrilled about it. It sounded like a tv version of what I imagine High School Musical to me! I was curious and caught the show a few episodes in and I love it!! OMLV, the voices on these “kids” (ok, so “Puck” is actually 27, but he is so gorgeous, I don’t even mind!)   So – are you watching? What do you think? Inquiring Twilighter minds want to know…
The music, which on paper should make me cringe – is AMAZING! Neil Diamond? … my grandmother crushes on him!! But when Puck brings it, it is positively swoon-worthy! They do a lot of mash-ups (combining songs) which I personally love, and the arrangements are just awesome.  Awe. Some.  The through-story is really interesting too – and funny! Did I mention that Jane Lynch is in it? That alone should get you to at least give it a chance. She is hysterically funny and is the perfect ‘villain’, so to speak. If you haven’t watched, we highly recommend it. If you have, let’s hear what you think!Â
Finn and Quinn? Finn and Rachel? Oooh… or Rachel and Puck? Oh – Schuster and Emma. Schuster’s wife is awful, right?! Seriously – how cute is Kurt?! The Beyonce dancing was pure genius, I about died from laughter suffocation during the football game scene! OMLV – hysterical!  And, on top of all of it is some straight phenomenal musical compositions! I mentioned Neil Diamond, but they make Journey sound contemporary and then do a Glee version of Kanye West’s Gold Digger that will have you howling with laughter while bopping to the beat. It just has so many fun aspects – I will even accept that the wrong team won the World Series, just to get my Wednesday nights back so i can get my Glee on!
So, Twilighters – let’s dish… Were you in Glee Club or the like in your high school? Did you have any group or team activities that you participated in in HS that this show or post reminds you of? McKinley also has the Cheerios – thats their name for their cheering team… were you a cheerleader? Glee does a great job of showing how imprtant it is to feel a part of something, no matter what your place in life. Let’s hear your thoughts! And ladies… You are SO welcome:
…is it just me, or is he a dead ringer for Robbie Williams?!

I planned on watching the first episode during the summer and then never got a chance. I am going to have to catch up…I have heard nothing but good things about it.

I really like Glee! I took singing lessons when I was a teenager, but I wasn’t in public school, so, I was never part of a glee club, or, anything like that. I’m always singing along with the show.:) And Puck is scrumptious!

It is the one show I look forward to watching even the reruins are better the second time around, and LOVE that photo, he does look like Robbie William there, love him too. I wasn’t in Glee club but one year I had Music as my homeroom, I love to sing and me and my 3 year old are always singing something everyday, with dance steps.. silly for a 45 year old but we love it, it keeps me young.

Love this show. I was hooked from the first show as it featured Journey’s “Dont Stop Believing”.

I’ll date myself by saying that Steve Perry was my obsession in High School. I played 2 varsity sports, so I was never the Cheerleader type, but I did love to sing and dance. We didn’t have a “Glee” club

I didn’t want to like it…but…yep ok i’m hooked. Glad to know I’m not the only one who gets the whole Robbie Williams look alike thing, have been telling that to my famiy but being all males I guess they are too busy checking out the cheerleaders to notice, lol, and as to puck, hubba… Another thing I’m finding cool about it is that it has broadened the kids interest in music, never thought they would be looking up Neil Diamond on youtube and they have downloaded some darn decent Bon Jovi. We never had anything like that in my high school, didn’t even have a drama club, all acedemic and sport, would have been so fun except I can’t sing for nuts.

Ok, so, I’m caught up on almost all the episodes. I love this show!! The character casting is simply AMAZING. Jane Lynch as Sue…AMAZING!!!! She is so brazen and crass! You can’t help but laugh at her very non-PC commentary. The writing for this show is CRAZY amazing. Puck, I’ve been in love with him since the first episode I saw him in. He’s hot, hot, hot, and there is way more to his character than the jerk jock. Kurt is stunning. I love that kid with a passion. The episode where he told his dad he is gay…AWESOME!!!! That was an amazing episode. Everyone is superb in their casting. This show is hilariously funny and a nice balance to the very serious The Vampire Diaries, my other favorite for the season. We should do a Glee challenge!
