fan-fiction recommendation: The Fallout by OCDIndeed
The standard disclaimer: If you haven’t read Twilight – GO READ IT!!! If you haven’t finished the series then skip this chatter because we might spoil something for you and we definitely don’t want to do that.
This Week’s Story:
The Fallout by OCDIndeed
The Premise:
March 16, 2006, the world the Cullen’s knew…ended. What if Edward never made it back in time, and failed to protect the one human that only mattered to him? Nuclear War? The Cullens? Nope…not a crackfic. Dark & Angsty. NM-AU ~OCDindeed
Now go read the prologue for a better introduction to the story… the prologue is just genius.
Jen’s Thoughts:
This story is what fan-fiction is all about. OCDindeed has taken Stephenie Meyer’s fantastic characters to the next level of greatness. It’s rare for me to read a  fic that I wish was actually a published book. This story on the other hand is one of those.
OCDindeed starts her story after Edward left Bella in the woods, crushed and broken. She weaves a tale of heart break and deception that twists and turns and keeps you hooked for the entire story. This story of a post nuclear war world for humans and vampires alike is a very realistic roller coaster ride.
This story had me hooked from the first sentence of the prologue and I’ll admit to getting tingles a bit at the last sentence.
What will happen to the Cullens, the Volturi, Victoria and most importantly Bella once the events are set in motion to cause a nuclear world war? How will Edward save her? How will the Cullens save him?
This is a MUST read. An absolutely riveting story that is very well written. It will leave you begging for new chapters.
Donna’s thoughts:
When I first discovered this futuristic apocalyptic story by OCD Indeed I was drawn in by her amazing writing style and the indepth relationship she has created for the Cullen family. All the charcters are very compelling and you really feel for them as they go on their journey through heartache, love and the bonds of family.
In The Fallout we find the Cullens still morning the loss of Bella after a nuculer war and ten years and OCD has given us a very angsty Edward (of course he’s angsty, he left the love of his life to die) that will break your heart. After the war we find that the US, and presumably the rest of the world, is struggling to survive. The surviors now live in “districts” and there are rumors of outlaws who steal people and drink their blood. The Cullens head back to Forks to finally find some semblance of normality and they slowly get accepted back into the tiny community. As Edward sees his family settled this only makes his determination to join Bella where ever she is… stronger…Only maybe things are not as they seem…..And as we discover (without giving too much away) that maybe love never dies and finds away back to us.
I have enjoyed every chapter of this story…My only complaint is that she doesn’t update as often as I would like, but I can live with that as long as OCD keeps writing these incredible chapters…You NEED to read this story, not only is it an enthralling piece of writing it will make you wish there was more of this kind of Fan Fic out there….
